The proposals include the provision of a new 2FE primary school and children’s nursery which will provide significant and lasting benefits to support the sustainable growth of the local community in Chattenden.
The primary school and nursery will increase access to high-quality childcare and education within the area, helping to meet current and projected demand for school places. This will reduce pressure on existing schools, minimise travel distances for families, and support sustainable patterns of growth by allowing children to attend school close to home.

Significant areas of public open space (including areas) are also proposed which will delivers significant social, environmental, and health benefits for both new and existing residents. Accessible green spaces provide opportunities for recreation, exercise, and informal play, supporting physical and mental wellbeing. They also create welcoming areas where people can meet and interact, helping to foster community cohesion and a sense of place. Integrating well-designed open space into new development ensures that growth is balanced with high-quality living environments, promotes walkable neighbourhoods, and provides lasting value for the wider community.
In addition, as part of our proposals, we at Esquire Development will be making a significant financial contributions to Medway Council in order to pay for community services and facilities, and other local priorities.
